In 2016 we launched 'Bigmouth Originals' - a department dedicated to producing original I.P in house with a particular focus on audio centric properties.
After attending key industry events and conferences for a number of years we noticed that there was not enough, if any, high quality content being produced with visually impaired children in mind first. Our goal with 'Bigmouth Originals' therefor was to be able to consistently produce high quality and engaging content that can bridge the gap between visually and non visually impaired children being able to enjoy a piece of content on a shared and equal level.
We launched 'Bigmouth Originals' with our flagship "audio comic book" series "Once Upon A Time In Zombieville" in collaboration with BBC Learning.
Once Upon A Time In Zombieville
Welcome to Zombieville, where you can leave your brains behind!
Once Upon A Time In Zombieville is a unique and crazy audio cartoon for 6-11 year olds created with visually impaired children at it’s heart, set in a fantastical world with hilarious and horrific challenges to overcome with the wit and wherewithal of our central visually impaired and dyslexic characters.
The show tells the story of Jamie McSporran (Macs) who moves to a sleepy old town on the East Coast of America with his dad, an engineer at the local energy plant. There he meets Samantha Addington (Sam) daughter of the local G.P, who befriends him. Just as he’s settling in, BOOM! An underground explosion and his dad goes missing. The earth cracks and something strange ends up in the water supply – strong enough to wake the dead
